It’s all over the news and the hot topic everywhere. Energy costs are skyrocketing. Gasoline prices for vehicles is peaking daily. Heating oil for homes are straining household budgets. Electricity costs for powering everything in your house are climbing steadily. How does one fight back under such pressures?

Alternative energy sources are needed. Manufactured wind turbine systems and solar power systems can cost thousands to purchase and have installed. Maintenance for such systems can be costly as well. Building your own wind powered generator can save you those thousands. You could build your own energy system for just a hundred dollars or so. A system you build yourself is also easier to maintain since you yourself built it. You can set up your own maintenance plans for proper effiency. Your own custom built system for your own homes’ energy needs.

There are some considerations to make. You will have to live in an area with winds available enough to make the system worth it. High hills, seacoasts, and open plains areas are such favorable sites. There are concerns with the migrations and fight paths of many types of birds, however, most home systems are small enough to avoid such problems.

Think of it! Living partially of the main power grids! Saving yourself some real money. The positive environmental impacts are clear. Most power generated in the United States comes from burning fossil fuels. What if many chose to help the earth out by cleaning up the atmosphere?
