With the high cost of gas prices and electricity, we all try to find ways to reduce their expenses. More and more the world is getting involve with using renewable energy sources whether it’s solar, wind, bio-fuel or hydro.

However, even though the other countries is spending more and more on renewable energy, mostly because it’s now much cheaper than fossil fuel but not the United States? It seems we’re still majorly depend on fossil fuel. Even thought solar and wind power are being used, it is still a lot more expensive than fossil fuel and because of that, we still have the need for oil.

Moreover, even though throughout the states, the government have deploy renewable energy, it is still quite expensive for an average American. The cost of installation and equipment is high. It seems it would be better off sticking to conventional electricity but in a long run a home owner will find themselves saving quite a deal of money. However, not anyone have the money to make that first purchase.

There’s also the problem with space… if you don’t have the space to install those solar panels, it won’t really do anyone good. Of course, people can always place solar panels on rooftops. Another problem is the area and place they will in will affect their solar energy production. Cloudy area won’t produce as much as places where there’s plenty of sunlight. Also, having high pollution in the air may also affect the efficiency of electricity as well.

Even thought these are some of the problems, solar energy is consistently improving overtime, and as people begin to understand the total benefits, more and more will start switching to alternative source. It could be solar, wind or bio-fuel, eventually, the price of solar panels will become cheaper. As oil reserves continue to decline, it’s important for us to turn to a renewable source.

When the time comes, we’ll all eventually get fed up with that electric bill. It’ll probably be better off leaving the lights off and not use electricity at all!
